The 10th annual Guinness World Records Day is being celebrated today in London. Take a look at the ‘weird and wonderful’ attempts and records of 2014. We picked the top 5 strangest attempts to show you.
Bee Suit World Record

Ruan Liangming, from China, set the Guinness World Record for being covered by bees on top half of his body, including his face and head for exactly 53 minutes and 34 seconds on May 13th, 2014.
World’s largest Disco Ball

A new world record was set at Bestival 2014 for the world’s largest disco ball. The ball measured 10.33 metre (33.89 feet) in diameter and was raised at the festival on the Isle of Wight. The previous record was 9.98 metres (32.74 feet).
World’s tallest pancake stack

In celebration of the premiere of their new cooking competition series On the Menu, TNT broke the Guinness World Records record for the World’s Tallest Pancake Stack in New York City’s Times Square on October 3rd, 2014. Setting the record were Chef Emeril Lagasse (R) and host Ty Pennington (C), with Guinness World Records adjudicator Morgan Wilbur (L) in attendance.
Largest pillow fight

People indulged in pillow fight for a minute to set the Guinness World Record for the largest pillow fight, with 4,200 pillows at the University of California, Irvine, on September 30, 2014.
Biggest sand castle

A 12 metre (39.3 feet) tall sand castle in Niteroi, near Rio de Janeiro, is competing for the biggest sand castle in the world by the Guinness Book of Records this year.
